Holistic Youth Wellbeing
Whole Youth, Whole Future
Mental Wellness Circles in Mtubatuba
Youth in Mtubatuba will participate in wellness seminars that focus on self-esteem, anxiety, peer pressure, and emotional resilience. Mindfulness journaling, breathing techniques, and group discussions comprise the activities. The participants are connected to professional support as required through a referral system. Teachers have observed an increase in engagement and a decrease in the number of disciplinary issues. Next year, we intend to broaden the scope of these seminars to accommodate a greater number of students.
Youth Empowerment and Engagement
This program encourages young people to get involved by doing sports, arts, civic education, debates, and traditional cultural activities like Ingoma. It helps people become leaders, builds their self-esteem, and teaches them to respect differences. We make inclusive spaces for young people to talk, be creative, and deal with important social issues like drug abuse, teen pregnancy, and violence in the community by combining modern and traditional ways of doing things. The goal of these events is to help young people feel more connected to their community, their identity, and their ability to lead.
Substance Abuse Prevention and Recovery
A youth-led initiative to bring attention to the risks of substance misuse. Youth are empowered to make a difference in their schools and communities via peer education, mentorship, and life skills training. They become ambassadors for sober living. Participant access to vocational training, academic mentoring, and skill-based programs all contribute to the success of the campaign. Rehabilitation centres stress reintegration and leadership development for youth coping with addiction. Prevention, early intervention, and long-term recovery are the pillars upon which this approach rests.
